How do I install and set up the Outlook add-in?

Here's how to install, find and pin the new plugin for Outlook for Windows (old and new), Outlook for Mac, and Outlook on the web.

Salesflare's newest add-in for Outlook is a great productivity booster, but it can take some time to find out how to install and set it up. πŸ˜…

That's why we wrote this guide, complete with screenshots. πŸ“·

Let's dig in πŸ‘‡


1. Install the Salesflare Outlook add-in for Windows, Mac and on the Web

Following the below steps, it will install the Salesflare Outlook add-in for a specific mailbox. The add-in should then at once be available for that mailbox on all Outlook versions: Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac and Outlook on the Web.

A. You're a Microsoft 365 admin

If you are an admin of your company's Microsoft 365 environment, then you can deploy the add-in:

  • For multiple users at once

  • Across all versions of Outlook

Isn't that easy!

So if you're an admin, just click below to install the Salesflare Outlook add-in for yourself and/or colleagues via Microsoft AppSource.

On the page that loads, click "Get it now" and follow the steps.

B. You're not a Microsoft 365 admin

If you're not a Microsoft 365 admin, you could ask your admin to go through the above steps... or you can follow the steps below to install the add-in yourself.

The way to do it is the same on Outlook for Windows (old and new) and Outlook on the Web, but slightly different on Outlook for Mac.

Outlook for Windows (old and new) & Outlook on the Web

You can install the Salesflare add-in in just three steps:

  1. Click on the apps icon in Outlook's left navigation.

  2. Search for "Salesflare" in the Apps (and click on it).

  3. Then click "Add" to install the add-in.

Then move on to step 2 below to (find and) pin the Salesflare add-in.

Outlook for Mac

On Outlook for Mac, you can install the Salesflare add-in in just three steps:

  1. Click on 3 dots in Outlook's top ribbon, then "Get Add-ins".

  2. Search for "Salesflare" in the Apps (and click on it).

  3. Then click "Add" to install the add-in.

Then move on to step 2 below to (find and) pin the Salesflare add-in.


2. Find and pin the Salesflare Outlook add-in

This second step is not always easy and slightly different for every Outlook version. Please refer to the right version below to continue:

New Outlook for Windows

Here's how to find and pin the Salesflare Outlook add-in in the New Outlook for Windows:

  1. First, click on an email in your Outlook email inbox.

  2. Then, click the "..." menu icon in the email application to open the sidebar. Note that it may take several minutes to sync and appear (you may have to switch emails for it to appear). In the new Outlook for Windows, the menu icon will be in the ribbon at the top of the email.

  3. In the dropdown, click Salesflare and then Salesflare sidebar to start showing the sidebar. (If no add-ins appear at all, like Teams or OneNote, then it sometimes helps to click on a older email for some reason.)

  4. At the top right of the sidebar, click the πŸ“Œ pin icon. The sidebar will now stay open and show relevant Salesflare context as you work through your mailbox.

Old Outlook for Windows

Here's how to find and pin the Salesflare Outlook add-in in the Old Outlook for Windows:

  1. First, click on an email in your Outlook email inbox. (This is necessary to enable the Salesflare icon.)

  2. Then, click the Salesflare icon in the email application to open the sidebar. Note that it may take several minutes to sync and appear (you may have to close and open Outlook again). In the old Outlook on Windows, the icon will appear in the Home ribbon at the top.

  3. In the dropdown, click Salesflare sidebar to start showing the sidebar on the right.

  4. At the top right of the sidebar, click the πŸ“Œ pin icon. The sidebar will now stay open and show relevant Salesflare context as you work through your mailbox.

Outlook for Mac

Here's how to find and pin the Salesflare Outlook add-in in Outlook for Mac:

  1. First, click on an email in your Outlook email inbox. (This is necessary to enable the Salesflare icon in the menu in step 2.)

  2. Then, at the top of the email application there is a ribbon with actions. Click the "..." menu icon at the full right of this ribbon. Note that it may take several minutes to sync and appear (you may have to close and open Outlook again).

  3. In the dropdown, click Salesflare and then Salesflare sidebar to start showing the sidebar.

  4. At the top right of the sidebar's Salesflare tab, click the πŸ“Œ pin icon. The tab will now stay open in the sidebar and show relevant Salesflare context as you work through your mailbox.

Outlook on the Web

Here's how to find and pin the Salesflare Outlook add-in in Outlook on the Web:

  1. First, click on an email in your Outlook email inbox.

  2. Then, click on the Apps icon next to the ... icon at the top right of the email to open the sidebar. Note that it may take several minutes to sync and appear (you may have to switch emails for it to appear). Then click on Salesflare.

  3. In the dropdown, click Salesflare sidebar to start showing the sidebar.

  4. At the top right of the sidebar, click the πŸ“Œ pin icon. The sidebar will now stay open and show relevant Salesflare context as you work through your mailbox.
