Value Added Tax, or VAT, is charged based on the region of your credit card.
Will I be charged VAT?
Depending on where you're based, there are different cases for VAT charges.
When you're not charged VAT:
You're a company or individual in the VAT area of the European Union.
To waive the VAT charge for EU companies, enter your VAT number upon checkout.
Note: If the VAT field is left empty or the VAT number is not validated upon checkout, VAT will be charged.
Already subscribed? Update your company's VAT number in Settings > Billing & Usage.
You're a company or individual outside of Europe.
Our system automatically detects when your credit card is non-European and therefore does not charge VAT.
You're a company or individual in Europe, not in the VAT area of the European Union.
Our system automatically detects when your credit card is from a European country outside the EU VAT zone and therefore does not charge VAT.
When you're charged VAT:
You're a company or individual in Belgium.
Within Belgium, Salesflare charges 21% VAT. If you're a VAT registered company, you can claim it back from the government in your quarterly VAT return.
You’re a company or individual in the VAT area and you're not VAT registered.
If you're a company or individual that's not VAT registered, Salesflare charges 21% VAT.
Is my company in the VAT area?
The following countries make up the VAT area of the European Union:
Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, the United Kingdom: Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) and Northern Ireland, Sweden.
