Can I create accounts during a contact import?

Is this possible?

Yes, that is possible!

Salesflare makes it easy to import existing data such as accounts, contacts, and opportunities.

You can either import contacts and accounts in one go, or import accounts first and then contacts.

Importing contacts + accounts at once

Importing contacts requires an email address or a name (preferably first and last for clean data), and any additional information about that contact that you’d like to include (addresses, phone numbers, custom field data, etc.).

You can also create accounts at the same time as the contact import. Just add a column for Account Name and map it in your contact import. This creates accounts when you have an Account Name mapped and no account for that name exists yet. To ensure that no duplicate accounts are created, you should check the box reading ‘Update account if one with the same name already exists”.

Importing accounts, then contacts

Importing accounts requires a column for Account Name, and it’s highly recommended to include a column with the Account Website filled out as well. During an account import you can also add additional account information such as addresses, phone numbers, social media links, and custom field data.

To ensure that no duplicate accounts are created, you should check the box reading ‘Update account if one with the same name already exists”.

After this you can import contacts as well. Just make sure to map a column with the exact name of the accounts to the "Account name" field. It will then automatically link the contacts to accounts.
