In general: it's being taken care off automatically

Salesflare automatically blocks the counting of your own email opens/link clicks in Salesflare, in Gmail, and in other email programs by not counting email opens that happen by devices on your external IP address.

To do this, Salesflare keeps track of the IP addresses from which you and your teammates are using the Salesflare web app or sidebar.

Special case for Gmail users: in Gmail's mobile app & when reading Gmail in other email programs

Using Gmail? Google is using a proxy server to load images, which circumvents Salesflare's mechanism of not counting your own opens.

To make sure your own email opens through your smartphone's Gmail app, in Apple Mail, Outlook or other, are not counted either, you can disable this image proxy for Salesflare's open tracking as explained below.

It will then be able to stop counting email opens that happen on your external IP address.

The only thing this requires is that you have Salesflare logged in on this device as well, so that Salesflare knows your IP address. You can be logged in on the mobile app, the web app and/or the email sidebar.

How to not count your email opens in Gmail's mobile app & other email programs (works only for Google Workspace accounts)

Here's how to do it in a step-by-step manner.

Step 1: Log into your Salesflare account.

Step 2: Go to Settings > Application and Integrations > Integrations . Under Salesflare email tracking links, click on "SHOW GUIDE".

Step 3: Copy your unique URL. For example: "salesflare.trakqit.com/" (without quotes, until the slash)

Step 4: Sign in to your Google Admin Console at admin.google.com. (You can also skip step 5 and 6 by going to https://admin.google.com/ac/apps/gmail/enduseraccess straight.)

Step 5: Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail

Step 6: Scroll down and hit "End User Access"

Step 7: Scroll down to "Image URL proxy whitelist" and add the unique URL that you copied from Salesflare. For example: "salesflare.trakqit.com/" (without quotes, with the slash), then hit Save.

That's it. Enjoy!
